The following information is about Margaret Ann Cashen Butler, sister of Rose Cashen (wife of RD McWard). The account is given from Deanna Griffin.
Today would the 151st birthday of Margaret Ann Cashen Butler—dad’s grandmother and our great grandmother. She was born July 2, 1871. She married John Richard Butler on August 9, 1895. They were neighbors—the Butler farm and the Cashen farm were very close to each other. She gave birth to 8 children, 5 of whom survived into adulthood: Nellie (1895), Mabel (1896), Florence (1898), John Leo (1899), Bernard (1901), Harold (1903), Helen (1906) and Aileen/Eileen (1909). She died July 20, 1954 at the age of 83. At the time of her death, only 3 of her children were still living.
Since we are blessed with a lot of photos of her, here we go! (not in date order) She was a big fan of the comfortable dress, now I know where I get my fashion sense
I believe this is her handwriting.
I had this marked up for one of Mabel’s nieces on Harry’s side, so thought I’d throw it in.
That is Dad in Nana’s arms so this is about 1940.
